Canyelles Diving Centre
Cala CanyellesCala Canyelles is a small natural bay of the Costa Brava almost untouched by men's hand. Its waters stand out for their transparency, especially during summer with a surface temperature of around 23ºC and the superb visibility that divers enjoy. Fauna and flora are characterized by their diversity. Here we can enjoy vaste meadows of Neptune Grass (bio-indicator of good water quality) and pre-coral reefs where it is easy to find rock fish like groupers, congers, moray eels, scorpion fish, one or another angler fish, as well as lobsters. It's also probable to enjoy the presence of nectonic species like greater amberjacks, tuna fish and barracudas. In spring, sunfish can be frequently observed.
Getting there
Cala Canyelles is situated between the coastal villages of Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar (about 75 km north of Barcelona). After about 2 km from the center of Lloret, turn right at the first crossing and then immediately left down to the beach (see photograph). At the crossing you'll find a white board with a red arrow indicating DIVING CENTER. Following this road for about 300m, you'll find the diving centre on your right at the Tennis Club Canyelles.
